Our office provides day to day site-specific technical help for farmers, private landowners, realtors, developers, consultants, and other government offices.   With assistance we hope to help solve local conservation problems, protect natural resources, and comply with environmental rules. Assistance provided is based on reliable data and sound science to ensure a quality product.

Soil Survey: Detailed information is available in booklet form for the entire county.  We now have available a digitized copy of the soil survey. The soil survey includes aerial maps with different soil types delineated on them, detailed soil descriptions, and tables of suitability ratings for different uses.

Aerial Photographs: Old aerial photos are available for viewing.   Photos are available from the following years:
1939 -  full county coverage
 1954 - partial county coverage
 1957 -  partial county coverage
1972 - full county coverage
1987 -  full county coverage
 1997 -   full county coverage

Topographic Maps:  U.S Geological Survey (USGS) topographic quad maps are available for review for the entire county.  These 1:24,000 scale maps show elevation in relation to sea level at every 10 foot contour.
Flood Plain Maps: Areas in the 100 year flood plain are shown on the Flood Insurance Rate Maps.  Maps are published by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  Coverage is for the entire county.  Homes identified within the 100 year flood plain are subject to flood insurance rules.
Wetland Inventory Maps:  Maps published by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are intended to mark potential wetland areas.  These 1:24,000 scale maps used infrared aerial photography to mark wet areas during the early 1980's.  These maps are not intended to "declare" wetlands subject to USDA swampbuster rules or Clean Water Act. Wetland determinations must be completed with a field visit by qualified professionals. Coverage is for the entire county.
