District Cost-Share Program: |
|
|
The DeKalb County Soil and Water
Conservation District (SWCD) is accepting applications for a cost-share program designed
to assist landowners with resource concerns that are not eligible for financial support
from federal or state programs. The DeKalb County SWCD is interested in promoting
conservation practices with landowners that own small acreage or non-agricultural land
with erosion, water quality or other problems and are interested in correcting the
problem.
Conservation practices that are mandated by regulatory programs such as Rule 5
will not be eligible for cost-share through this program.
|
|
|
The resource concerns considered for cost-share are one or more of the following:
*reduction of soil erosion
(i.e. streambank erosion)
*reduction of sedimentation to surface water (i.e. streambank or
gully
problems on non-agriculture land)
*reduction or prevention of pathogens to surface
water (i.e. failing
septic systems)
*situations that could have a potential affect on
public health (i.e. land
that continues to have standing water). |
|
|
The DeKalb County SWCD Cost-Share
Program will reimburse 75% of the eligible costs.
*The maximum amount reimbursed is limited
to a total of $1500.00 per
project.
*Each individual landowner will be eligible for
cost-share funds for one project per calendar year.
|
|
|
The DeKalb County
SWCD Board of Supervisors will evaluate applications for cost-share
funds on a monthly basis at
their board meetings.
*Board meetings are held in the DeKalb County SWCD Conference
Room on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30pm.
*Board meetings are open to the
public and anyone may attend.
