Arts Commission and DeKalb SWCD Present National Georgraphic Photojournalist Jim Richardson Exhibit
AUBURN – Auburn Arts Commission Inc. and DeKalb County Soil & Water Conservation District are partnering to present “Art in Agriculture: Conservation as Art” featuring National Geographic photojournalist Jim Richardson in August and September. DeKalb Health and Metal Technologies Inc. are sponsors of the event.
A gallery exhibit, opening Aug. 5 with a reception from 2-4 p.m. at DeKalb Health, will feature Richardson’s photographs taken around the world. Twenty framed photographs will illustrate the importance of soil and its conservation. The exhibit will be open to the public through September 23 in the area of the hospital that formerly housed patient registration and adjacent corridors.
Richardson will present a program, “Soil: the Future beneath Our Feet” on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at GarrettHigh School.
The public may support this exhibit at several financial levels. A sponsor is an individual, business or company contributing at least $2,000. Donors may contribute at several levels: Harvester, $1,000 to $1,999; Grower, $500 to $999; Sprouter, $250 to $499; Planter, $100 to $249; and Planner, $1 to $99.
